san francisco is the city of startups. it is a place where someone lives to finance “building something fun and new”.

new york city is the city of endups. it is a city for companies that have succeeded to capitalize on past achievement.

companies will come to nyc to fight legal battles over their past business wins, sell their equity, buy and manage other companies, and even get bought.

the success of san francisco through the past decade brings with it a biased encouragement startup culture, and risk taking, which won’t necessarily be what wins in the next decade.

people who work at new york city endups see the success of san francisco, to sometimes quit their endup jobs, to pursue a grass that they believe to be greener on the other side.

to work at an endup or a startup. that is the question : whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them.
